They are marketed as fragrance, potpourri, incense with label stating not for human consumption but they still use it (Kathryn et al., 2012). Repeated use of synthetic marijuana can lead to changes in their mood, memory, thinking ability, anxiety, perception, attention, and even have syptoms of paranoia or pshychosis (Spaderna et al., 2013). Approximately 11.3 % of high school seniors reported using the drug according to the Monitoring the Future Survey (MTF) (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2012). The surveys informed us that the seniors reported using the drug once or twice and that the risk level was reported low. In 2010 there was approximately 2900 emergency calls reported by the Poison Control Centers and this calls increased to 7000 by 2011 (Richardson et al., 2016). According to NYC.Gov Health site K2 is not marijuana and approximately 90% of male users have emergency room visits since 2015 (Kunins, 2015). Approximately 11, 406 emergency department visits involving synthetic drugs by patients ages 12-29 was recorded by the Drug Abuse Warning Network (Dawn) (Richardson et al., 2016).
